Kazakhstan's Largest Airline Sees Silver Lining in Middle East Conflict
Air Astana presented its full-year results for 2025, reporting strong revenue growth of 11.4% despite a decline in profit after tax. The airline attributes the decline to exchange rate fluctuations and technical issues with its Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines. Air Astana’s CEO, Peter Foster, highlighted the airline’s financial and operational health, while CFO Ibrahim Canliel expressed optimism about the airline’s long-term prospects, including its potential to double the domestic market. The airline has also been expanding its international presence, with the delivery of new Boeing 787-9s expected in 2026.
