Defense Firm Expands UAS Engineering Capabilities
AeroVironment has announced the acquisition of Empirical Systems Aerospace, a California-based UAS engineering company, in a deal worth approximately $200 million. ESAero will continue to operate from its California facilities as a subsidiary of AV, with a focus on improving manufacturing capabilities and establishing a center of excellence for advanced prototyping and manufacturing. The acquisition is expected to accelerate AV’s ability to bridge the gap between conceptual design and manufacturing execution, addressing the urgent demands of a fast-growing defense tech market.
