AerCap Orders Up to 100 A320neo Aircraft

Leasing Giant Boosts Airbus Fleet Amid Boeing Competition

AerCap has placed a firm order for up to 100 A320neo family aircraft, including 23 A320neos and 77 A321neos, according to Airbus on March 18, 2026. This is AerCap’s largest single direct order for this type of aircraft to date. CEO Aengus Kelly stated that the order reflects confidence in the long-term demand for these highly efficient aircraft. The deal comes as Airbus faces renewed competition from Boeing, which regained the annual new order lead in 2025. AerCap manages a fleet of 1,825 aircraft and had previously secured delivery slots from Spirit Airlines as part of its restructuring efforts.
