United Airlines Expands GE Aerospace Engine Fleet Amid Boeing 787 Demand

United Airlines has placed an order for 300 GEnx engines to power their new Boeing 787 Dreamliners, set to become the largest GEnx operator in the world. GE Aerospace announced the agreement on February 16, 2026, with additional spare engines included. United currently operates extensive fleets of GE Aerospace and CFM International powered aircraft. The airline is awaiting delivery of more 787s, which will further solidify their reliance on the GEnx engine.
