Portable Loitering Munitions Advance For Frontline Units
Textron Systems has been awarded a prototype agreement by the US Army under the Low Altitude Stalking & Strike Ordnance (LASSO) program. The company will deliver and demonstrate its Damocles loitering munition system, which features a VTOL-launched effect with autonomous or semi-autonomous search-and-strike capability. The LASSO program aims to rapidly deliver a man-portable loitering munition to Infantry Brigade Combat Teams. According to AeroTime, Textron’s selection marks another step in the Army’s push to field portable loitering munitions for frontline units.
