Singapore Acquires Used Legacy C-130Hs to Replace Older C-130s

Singapore Air Force Upgrades Fleet with Second-Hand Hercules Transport Aircraft

Singapore has acquired used legacy Lockheed-Martin C-130 Hercules transport aircraft from Blue Aerospace to replace older C-130s in its inventory. The acquisition began in mid-December and includes three C-130Hs bearing US registrations N974BA, N973BA, and N977BA. Delivery of the second-hand aircraft marks a significant upgrade for the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s fleet, which currently operates 10 legacy C-130s. Maj. Gen. Kelvin Fan stated that the C-130 remains the best platform to meet operational needs for the next 15-20 years. The RSAF plans to keep the aircraft well-maintained and upgrade them with improved avionics and digital glass cockpits.
