Cybersecurity Expertise Concerns Spark Hold On Key Nomination
A top Democratic lawmaker is putting the brakes on the confirmation of Lt. Gen. Joshua Rudd, the Trump administration’s pick to lead US Cyber Command and the National Security Agency. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-OR, cited Rudd’s lack of familiarity with basic constitutional rights and his inexperience in signals intelligence and cybersecurity as reasons for his objection. Rudd, a career special operations officer, has been waiting for confirmation since his hearings in January and February. The hold on his nomination could drag out the confirmation process, according to Breaking Defense.
