French Aerospace Giant Expands Global Footprint in North Africa
Safran has unveiled plans to build a new landing gear facility in Morocco, with an investment of over $332 million. The facility, located at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, will aid in the ramp-up of Airbus A320 production and is scheduled to open in 2029. The site will employ nearly 500 skilled workers and will be powered entirely by decarbonized electricity. This announcement follows news of a new assembly line and maintenance center for the LEAP engine in Casablanca, further solidifying Morocco’s role in Safran’s global industrial footprint, as reported by AeroTime.
