Stockholm to Choose from Established Defense Contractors Amid Baltic Sea Threats

Sweden is expected to choose a new frigate design this spring, with Saab and Babcock offering the Arrowhead 120 variant. The Luleå-class frigates will strengthen the navy’s capabilities in the Baltic Sea and High North amid threats from Russia. According to Breaking Defense, the partnership aims to bring together a proven, export-ready design tailored to Sweden’s needs. Final design selection is expected this spring, followed by contract negotiations.
