Warsaw Secures Largest Share Of New Loan System For Rapid Defense Procurement
Poland is set to receive over €43.7 billion from the EU’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE) instrument, the largest share of the new loan system designed to support rapid defense procurement and modernization. The funding, which will be spent between 2026 and 2030, will go towards a wide range of systems, including artillery, anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, and strategic air transport. According to Poland’s government, the majority of the funds will go to Polish industry, with an estimated 12,000 companies benefiting from the program. The announcement was made as the Sejm adopted the Senate’s amendments to the bill implementing SAFE, which now heads to the desk of President Karol Nawrocki to sign.
