Warsaw Secures Largest Share Of New Loan System For Rapid Weapon Procurements
Poland is set to receive €43.7 billion from the EU’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE) instrument, the largest share of the new loan system designed to support rapid weapon procurements for member states. The funding will be used to acquire various defense systems and equipment, including artillery, anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, and ground combat systems. The loan has a 45-year repayment horizon and a 10-year grace period, with an interest rate of 3.17% for Poland. According to Poland’s government, the majority of the funds will go to Polish industry, with an estimated 12,000 companies benefiting from the program.
