Pentagon Overhauls Cyber Warrior Training Amid AI Fears

New Cyber Command Plan Aims To Attract And Train Top Talent

The Pentagon is overhauling its cyber warrior training program in response to concerns about the use of artificial intelligence by adversary nations. The new Cyber Command 2.0 plan, which aims to better attract and train the department’s cyber warriors, is one of the largest changes in the command’s 15-year history. According to Katherine Sutton, assistant secretary of defense for cyber policy, the plan seeks to address readiness concerns and talent retention issues that have plagued the cyber mission force. The implementation plan will involve a two-pronged approach, with the department drafting foundational policy guidance and testing innovative approaches to career paths, training, and incentives. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
