Marine Corps Awards Kodiak AI Contract for Autonomous JLTVs

Autonomous Trucking Tech To Enhance Remotely Operated Ground Unit

The Marine Corps has awarded Kodiak AI a contract to integrate its AI-powered autonomous driving system into Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) for the Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary (ROGUE) Fires platform. The ROGUE Fires platform combines the Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) with the JLTV chassis. Kodiak’s announcement follows a similar contract award to Forterra in January 2025. The Marine Corps has invested significantly in autonomous navigation for the ROGUE Fires platform, with $30 million allocated for Forterra’s AutoDrive system and an additional $59 million for autonomy kits in fiscal 2026. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
