American Firm Delivers Advanced AEW&C Capabilities

L3Harris has begun work on converting two Bombardier business jets into Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft for South Korea, as part of a larger contract to deliver four such aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force. The AERIS system, which integrates an Active Electronically Scanned Array radar, will provide advanced air defense capabilities. L3Harris has experience with similar programs, including work for the US Air Force and Australia. The company is also seeing interest in the AERIS platform from other nations, according to a company official, as reported by Breaking Defense.
