Airline Safety Review Amid Boeing 787 Concerns, Regulatory Oversight Ensures Compliance
India’s civil aviation regulator has cleared the fuel control switch design on Boeing 787 Dreamliners after a pilot report raised safety concerns. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) found no systemic defect in the switches, and Air India confirmed that a subsequent fleet-wide re-inspection of fuel switches found no defects. This decision follows a similar incident in June 2025, which highlighted the importance of proper operating techniques for flight crews. Boeing is working closely with Air India to support the review.
