Luftwaffe Deep-Strike Drone Procurement Slows Amid Additional Review
Germany’s fast-track effort to develop a reusable, jet-powered deep-strike drone for the Luftwaffe is facing delays, with the selection process gaining an extra review round. The program, aimed at fielding an initial capability by 2029, is part of the Luftwaffe’s Tornado transition. Boeing’s MQ-28 Ghost Bat and the XQ-58A Valkyrie are among the candidates, with a third option remaining unidentified. The development was first reported by AeroTime.
