Indian Regional Market To See Local Assembly Of E175 Jets
Embraer and Adani Defence & Aerospace have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a final assembly line for the E175 regional jet in India. The agreement follows the companies’ announcement of cooperation in regional aircraft manufacture in January 2026. The E175, which can seat up to 88 passengers, is seen as a good fit for India’s regional market needs. Embraer estimates that India will require around 500 aircraft in the 80 to 146-seat range over the next two decades to achieve its regional connectivity goals. The development of regional aviation is key to facilitating economic development throughout India, and the Indian government has been providing incentives under the UDAN program to improve regional air links.
