Pentagon Seeks to Democratize Access to Defense Tech Research

The Pentagon plans to launch an AI-powered database of patents by the end of the year, according to Breaking Defense reports. The database will include over 5,400 existing patents and new ones added annually. TechLink estimates that it has helped companies create over 45,000 jobs and $5 billion in revenues since 2000. The initiative aims to overcome the knowledge gap between industry and defense research by providing a more accessible platform for private sector companies to explore and commercialize defense technologies.
