Purdy Takes Senior Advisor Role Amid Space Acquisition Shifts

Breaking Defense reports that Maj. Gen. Stephen Purdy has been shifted out of his role as Air Force acting head of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration, taking on a new ‘senior advisor’ role to Secretary Troy Meink. Tom Ainsworth will perform the duties of assistant secretary at SAF/SQ, while Brig. Gen. Panzenhagen has been named as military deputy. The move comes amid expectations of a significant budget boost for fiscal 2027 and integration challenges.
