Breaking Defense reports that Canada is still interested in taking part in the Golden Dome missile defense program, despite tensions between Washington and Ottawa. The US Department of Defense has not responded to questions about how it is currently factoring Canada into ongoing Golden Dome planning. Meanwhile, NORAD, a longstanding partnership between the two countries, may be affected by Golden Dome’s development. According to Glen VanHerck, a former four-star US general and head of US Northern Command and NORAD, Canada can offer terrain and a larger footprint forward to place sensors, radars, and effectors.
