Ottawa Weighs Participation Amid Rocky Relations With Washington
Canada remains interested in taking part in the US Golden Dome missile defense shield, despite rocky relations with Washington. The project’s details remain closely guarded, but Canada has already invested $28.3 billion to modernize NORAD over the next two decades. According to Breaking Defense, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Ottawa will participate if it serves Canada’s interests, and the country has begun investing in capabilities that could contribute to Golden Dome, including Arctic Over-the-Horizon Radar sites and Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft.
