Regulatory Approval Marks Milestone in Boeing's 777-9 Training Program

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have awarded Boeing’s 777-9 flight training simulator initial qualification, marking an important milestone in the company’s training program. The qualification certificate means Boeing is ‘one step closer to conducting regulator-approved pilot training’. According to Breaking Defense, Capt. Gary Mandy, 777X Chief Technical Pilot, stated that securing these approvals is an important step as they prepare for the start of flight training. The training devices have been developed in collaboration with CAE and are located at the Boeing Training Campus in London-Gatwick Airport (LGW).
