Arctic Angels Prepare for Cold Weather Combat
The US Army’s 11th Airborne Division, known as the ‘Arctic Angels,’ conducted a training exercise in the Yukon Training Area, Alaska, to prepare for potential Arctic conflicts. The training, part of the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center 26-02 rotation, simulated an Arctic conflict and tested the soldiers’ ability to operate in extreme cold weather conditions. The exercise comes as the Arctic’s strategic value grows and the Pentagon reorients to homeland defense. This training was reported by Breaking Defense.
