Army to Deploy Next Generation Command and Control System Across Divisions

The US Army has budgeted for the first division in fiscal year 2027 to receive the production full stack Next Generation Command and Control ecosystem, according to officials. Brig. Gen. Shane Taylor, capability program executive for Command, Control, Communications, and Network, said that there will be around 60-70% commonality within the ecosystem between divisions. The Army is also modernizing its underlying hardware through the C2 Now effort, which aims to replace legacy equipment. This development may signal a shift towards more standardized systems, but the varying levels of customization across divisions suggest that the system will need to be adaptable to different operational environments.
