Singapore Air Force First To Introduce Automatic Air-To-Air Refueling

Airbus and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) have achieved full certification of the Automatic Air-to-Air Refueling (A3R) capability on the Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT). The certification, granted by the Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology, marks a world-first in aviation and enhances the RSAF’s aerial refueling operations. The A3R system employs advanced automation and computer vision technologies, allowing for automatic detection, tracking, and engagement of receiver aircraft.
