Air India Upgrades Long-Haul Services with New Aircraft and Cabin Interiors

Air India has announced plans to deploy new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners between Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (BOM) and London-Heathrow Airport (LHR), as part of its ‘Northern Summer Schedule 2026’. The airline expects deliveries of three new, line-fit 787-9s and two A350-1000 aircraft in 2026. Air India will also add premium economy on select routes, including Delhi-Tokyo Haneda and Delhi-Shanghai. The airline’s retrofitted legacy 787-8 aircraft will feature new cabin interiors and be deployed on Bengaluru-Heathrow flights. This update is part of a long list of product and customer experience upgrades unveiled by Air India.
