Air Force Set to Declare T-7 Red Hawk Ready for Production

Years of Delays Overcome as Boeing Training Jet Nears Milestone

The US Air Force is on the verge of declaring its T-7 Red Hawk training jet ready for production, following years of delays and design issues. The T-7, built by Boeing, will replace the aging T-38 Talon and train new generations of fighter and bomber pilots. According to Rodney Stevens, the Air Force’s program executive officer for training, the production decision, known as Milestone C, is a monumental step forward, but much work remains to be done. The Air Force expects to eventually own over 300 copies of the jet, with initial operational capability expected by November 2027. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
