Airline Seeks Permission To Fly Between UK And US Points
Wizz Air has filed a request with the US Department of Transportation to operate flights between the UK and US points, but the airline’s CFO, Ian Malin, downplayed the significance of the move, stating there are no plans for scheduled transatlantic services. Instead, the application is connected to the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Wizz Air considering charter flights to meet expected demand. The airline’s CEO, Joszef Váradi, also mentioned the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as a potential opportunity for US charter flights. This development was reported by AeroTime.
