Spacepower Underpins Joint Force Success In Operation Absolute Resolve
The US military’s capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was supported by essential space capabilities provided by US Space Command, according to a command spokesperson. The operation, known as Absolute Resolve, relied on space-based positioning, navigation, and timing, as well as satellite communications, to ensure the Joint Force’s freedom of maneuver. The success of the mission may be attributed to the increasing integration of space capabilities into joint warfighting, as noted by former SPACECOM deputy John Shaw.
