UK Shortlists Companies for Apache Loyal Wingman Program

Seven Defense Giants Advance in Uncrewed Air Systems Project

The UK Ministry of Defence has announced that it has selected seven companies to develop prototypes for its AH-64 Apache ’loyal wingman’ program, Project NYX. The initiative aims to create Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS) capable of operating alongside the UK’s Apache attack helicopters. Anduril and GKN Aerospace have partnered on this project, while BAE Systems, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin UK, Syos, Tekever and Thales are among those selected after an initial pre-qualification phase. The ultimate goal is to have an operational system by 2030.
