Accelerated Competition to Develop Ground-Launched Ballistic Missile for Ukraine

The UK Ministry of Defence has launched an accelerated competition to develop a ground-launched deep-strike ballistic missile for Ukraine, with detailed requirements issued to industry partners in December 2025. Development proposals are due by February 9, 2026, with development contracts targeted for award in March 2026. The program aims to deliver a vehicle-launched missile capable of delivering a 200-kilogram conventional high-explosive warhead to ranges beyond 500 kilometers, while retaining effectiveness in high-threat environments marked by heavy electromagnetic interference. According to the UK MoD, the ministry has set a maximum unit price of £800,000 (about $1.1 million) per missile and a target production rate of 10 missiles per month.
