Defense Cooperation Grows Between Turkey And Southeast Asia

Turkish defense firm Desan is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with plans to build its first overseas shipyard in Malaysia. The company signed a joint venture agreement with local partner SM-WEZ to construct the shipyard, which will handle new shipbuilding, maintenance, and modernization activities for military and commercial vessels. Desan is also building coast guard vessels for the Malaysian Coast Guard Command.
