Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation And Fighter Jet Escort
A Turkish Airlines Airbus A321 was forced to make an emergency landing in Barcelona after a potential bomb threat was detected by the crew. The aircraft, operating flight TK1853 from Istanbul to Barcelona, landed safely and all 148 passengers and seven crew members were evacuated. The alert was triggered by a suspicious username on the aircraft’s inflight connectivity system.
