Air Force One Electrical Issue Forces President Trump to Change Plane Mid-Flight
President Trump’s Air Force One flight was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Joint Base Andrews after a minor electrical issue was identified shortly after takeoff. According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the crew opted to return ‘out of an abundance of caution’ due to some cabin lights temporarily going out during departure. The president then boarded a Boeing C-32A, which carried him for the remainder of the trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. AeroTime reports that this incident may have been caused by the VC-25A’s aging electrical systems, which are being upgraded under the Presidential Aircraft Recapitalization program.
