US Approves Potential Sale Of Maritime Patrol Aircraft
The US government has approved a potential Foreign Military Sales case for Singapore to acquire the Boeing P-8A Poseidon multi-mission maritime patrol aircraft in a deal worth over $2.3 billion. The sale includes associated equipment such as MK 54 torpedoes and AN/AAQ-24(V)N Directional Infra-Red Counter Measures. Singapore plans to replace its current Fokker 50 maritime patrol aircraft with the P-8As as part of its efforts to strengthen its maritime security capabilities.
