Fiscal 2026 Budget Deal Includes Pentagon Funding And DHS Continuing Resolution
The Senate has passed the $838.7 billion fiscal 2026 defense spending bill, which includes full-year appropriations for the Pentagon and five other departments. The bill provides $8.4 billion more than the Pentagon’s budget request, but still falls short of the department’s additional funding requests. Lawmakers added funding for key programs, including the F/A-XX and E-7 Wedgetail, and rejected the Army’s agile funding proposal. The bill was passed after Democrats and the White House reached a deal to largely avert a government shutdown, as reported by Breaking Defense.
