US Government Accepts Qatari Donated Jet for Presidential Airlift Mission
The US Air Force has accepted a donated 747 jetliner from Qatar to serve as an interim Air Force One, amid delays for Boeing-modified jets. The aircraft was accepted in May and modifications began in September. Defense contractor L3Harris is reportedly working on militarizing the plane. The Air Force expects the Qatari jet to be ready for service this summer, with a price tag of less than $400 million.
