Hegseth Announces Reorganization of Defense Innovation Ecosystem

The Pentagon released three policy memos from Secretary Pete Hegseth, aiming to overhaul and accelerate technology efforts. The reorganization includes a new AI strategy with seven high-priority projects, such as GenAI.mil and Swarm Forge. Advana is being divided into three parts: core financial management functions, War Data Platform (WDP), and application services. Hegseth announced appointments for DIU director Owen West and Pentagon Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer Cameron Stanley.
