Trump-Class Battleships To Become Cornerstone Of Golden Fleet
The US Navy is developing a new battleship, the Trump-class, which will be the cornerstone of its new Golden Fleet. The vessel will have a range of advanced capabilities, including Conventional Prompt Strike and gun weapon systems, as well as a large number of vertical launch systems and power for directed energy weapons. The Navy’s director of surface warfare, Rear Adm. Derek Trinque, expressed his enthusiasm for the new program, which grew out of the Navy’s DDG(X) program aimed at building a next-generation destroyer.
