European Carrier Upgrades Inflight Internet With Satellite-Based Service
Lufthansa Group has partnered with SpaceX to offer Starlink’s satellite-based internet connectivity across its fleet, starting in the second half of 2026. The service will be available for free to status customers and Travel ID users, and is expected to be fully rolled out by 2029. During the transition period, Lufthansa will continue to offer its current FlyNet service, which is based on Viasat’s Ka-band service. This development was reported by AeroTime.
