Elbit Systems Partners with Lowental Hybrid for Hybrid-Electric Engine Solution

Elbit Systems has selected startup Lowental Hybrid to supply a hybrid-electric engine for its tactical UAVs. The initial scope includes $1.4 million in development, procurement, and services, with potential multi-year revenue from additional systems and support. Breaking Defense reports that the new propulsion system could offer key innovation, extending flight duration by five times or more. Lowental Hybrid’s CEO Doron Fridman discussed the collaboration as an important milestone, enhancing endurance, reliability, and simplicity of use.
