Lockheed Martin Quadruples THAAD Production

Pentagon Deal Boosts Munitions Manufacturing Capacity

Lockheed Martin has signed an agreement with the Pentagon to quadruple production of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors over the next seven years. The deal, which requires Congressional approval for fiscal 2026 funding, will increase annual production from 96 to 400 interceptors. Lockheed CEO Jim Taiclet announced the company’s plans to invest multi-billion dollars in munitions production, including building a new facility in Camden, Ark. The announcement comes as the company breaks ground on a new munitions acceleration center and plans to modernize manufacturing sites across five states, as reported by Breaking Defense.
