Modernization Of Existing C-27J Fleet To Bridge Capability Gap
Lithuania has decided to postpone its planned procurement of new military transport aircraft, opting instead to modernize its existing C-27J Spartan fleet to keep it in service through 2036. The decision follows a State Defence Council meeting, where officials cited the need for additional funding for the initial planned acquisition of Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft. The modernization of the C-27J fleet is seen as a bridging solution, with talks on a future transport aircraft acquisition expected to begin around 2030. This development was reported by AeroTime.
