Premium Carrier Expands Network With Turboprop Flights
US public charter carrier JSX has launched ATR 42-600 turboprop service on certain routes, marking a significant expansion of its premium, crowd-free service model. The carrier began flying the aircraft between Santa Monica Airport in Southern California and Las Vegas in December 2025, and plans to operate four ATR 42-600s in early 2026. The ATR 42-600s are configured with 30 all-premium seats, matching the capacity of JSX’s Embraer regional jets. According to AeroTime, JSX’s move into turboprop service is part of a broader evaluation of the aircraft type as the carrier looks to serve smaller and underserved airports with a premium passenger experience.
