Joby Aviation Receives CAE Flight Simulator

Electric Aircraft Pilot Training Takes Major Leap Forward

Joby Aviation has taken a major step towards commercial market readiness with the receipt of its first CAE flight simulator. The simulator, a fixed-based training device, is expected to be qualified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a Level 7 Flight Training Device. A second unit, a full-motion simulator, is expected to arrive later this year. According to Joby, both simulators will provide an ultra-realistic environment for commercial single-pilot eVTOL operations. The company expects to train up to 250 pilots a year with the two simulators operational. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
