IndiGo Welcomes First Airbus A321XLR Aircraft

Indian Low-Cost Carrier Takes Delivery of Long-Range Narrowbody

AeroTime reports that IndiGo has welcomed its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft, becoming India’s first operator of this type. The airline ordered 69 more A321XLRs from Airbus as part of its successive mega-orders. With a range allowing it to reach large swathes of the continent, the A321XLR will complement IndiGo’s future A350-900 fleet and enable the carrier to add frequencies on certain international destinations. Starting January 23, 2026, IndiGo will deploy the aircraft on nonstop flights between Athens and Delhi/Mumbai.
