US Shipbuilder Doubles Portchester Site to Boost UK and European Support

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has expanded its Portchester, England site to support UK and European customers. The new facility will increase capacity for REMUS 620 and Odyssey autonomy support, as well as enable training capabilities for allied navies. According to HII, the expansion is part of a broader effort to support defense efforts in the region, following increased investment by the US military and its allies. The company has delivered over 750 REMUS UUVs to 30 users worldwide, with plans to pursue additional UK business opportunities.
