European Consortium Continues To Support Air Dominance Missions
MBDA has secured a new contract to supply additional Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles to the German Armed Forces. The order, placed through the Meteor Integrated Joint Programme Office, continues Germany’s participation as a development partner in the six-nation European program. The Meteor missile is designed for long-range engagements and features ramjet-based propulsion, providing a larger ’no escape zone’ than many other air-to-air missiles. The program has seen recent integration work on various combat air platforms, including the F-35. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
