US Agency Grounds N-Registered Aircraft Over Trust Agreement Issues
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has invalidated all aircraft registration certificates issued to UK-based Southern Aircraft Consultancy (SACI) due to violations of US citizenship requirements. The FAA found that SACI used trust agreements to register aircraft for US citizens and foreign nationals without meeting the necessary citizenship criteria. As a result, 803 aircraft are grounded, and owners must re-register their aircraft either in the US or through another country’s registry. The UK’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has also advised affected owners not to fly their aircraft until they comply with the FAA’s requirements. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
