African Carrier Expands Widebody Fleet Amid Sustainability Push
Ethiopian Airlines has placed an order for nine additional Boeing 787-9 aircraft, as announced by the US manufacturer. The order, finalized in December 2025, follows the airline’s previous orders for 11 787s and 20 737 MAX aircraft. Ethiopian Airlines already operates the largest Dreamliner fleet in Africa, with 30 aircraft, and aims to advance sustainable aviation through the acquisition of more fuel-efficient planes.
